The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the official timeline for the 2026 Direct Entry (DE) registration for candidates seeking admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and other tertiary institutions. This registration window gives qualified applicants the chance to apply for admission into the 200‑level or higher of their chosen courses without writing the UTME.

2026 Direct Entry Registration Closing Date

The 2026 Direct Entry registration officially commenced on Monday, March 2, 2026, and is scheduled to end on Saturday, April 25, 2026. All prospective Direct Entry candidates must complete their registration before this closing date, otherwise you may lose the opportunity to be considered for admission in the 2026/2027 academic session. 

JAMB has emphasised that the sale of application documents and e‑PIN vending for Direct Entry is handled only at JAMB State and Zonal Offices nationwide. This is important so candidates avoid unauthorised or fake registration centres that can lead to fraud or complications.

Who Is Eligible for JAMB Direct Entry?

You are eligible to apply for JAMB Direct Entry 2026 if you have any of the following qualifications:-

• National Diploma (ND) holders
• Higher National Diploma (HND) holders
• National Certificate in Education (NCE)
• Cambridge A‑Levels or GCE A‑Level passes
• IJMB, JUPEB, or equivalent advanced certificates

Direct Entry is not for UTME candidates, so ensure you meet the eligibility criteria before you register.

How to Register for JAMB Direct Entry 2026

These are the steps you can follow to register for the JAMB direct entry examinations successfully:-

• Visit a JAMB State or Zonal Office: Direct Entry registration cannot be done online or at CBT centres. You must go to an accredited JAMB office.
• Purchase the DE Application Document / e‑PIN: Pay for your Direct Entry form and get the e‑PIN that allows you to register.
• Fill the Direct Entry Registration Form: Complete the online form at the JAMB office, entering your personal details, qualifications, and choice of institution and course.
• Biometric Capture: JAMB will capture your biometric data (fingerprints and photo) at the office.
• Submit and Print Your Slip: Once you finish, submit the form and print your registration slip for your records.

Make sure all your documents and qualifications are complete before registration; missing documents can cause delays or rejection.

• You must register before the closing date, Saturday, April 25, 2026. After this date, JAMB will close the registration portal,l and you won’t be able to register for Direct Entry in 2026.
• Always use official JAMB channels like State and Zonal Offices for registration to avoid scams.
