NECO Civic Education Examination Structure

The Civic Education exam has two main papers:-

Paper 1: Multiple Choice

  • 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 1 hour
  • Total marks: 40
  • Questions cover all areas of the syllabus, and you are expected to select the correct answer from the options provided.

Paper 2: Essay Questions

A 2-hour written exam divided into three sections:

  • Section A: National ethics, citizen duties, and societal values
  • Section B: Emerging societal issues such as environmental concerns, social justice, and modern societal challenges
  • Section C: Government systems and processes, including the functions of different arms of government

Answer four questions in total, choosing at least one question from each section
