ATBU Admission Requirements (UTME & Direct Entry Candidates)

The admission requirements for Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University are the basic conditions used by the university to determine whether a candidate is qualified for admission into any undergraduate programme.   • Candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics
  • The O’Level results must not exceed two sittings
  • Candidates must also meet any departmental requirements as specified in the JAMB brochure

Direct Entry (DE) Admission Requirements

Candidates applying through Direct Entry must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • At least two A-Level passes in relevant subjects related to their course of study
  • National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least Lower Credit in relevant fields
  • IJMB or JUPEB qualification with acceptable points for admission
  • Candidates must also possess five (5) credit passes in O’Level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics
  • Candidates must apply through JAMB Direct Entry and select Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University as their preferred institution.
